NETFLIX's SHADOW AND BONE
- Jessie Mei Li and Ben Barnes will play the lead roles on the upcoming drama created by Eric Heisserer. Li stars in Edgar Wright's upcoming 2020 film Last Night in Soho. Barnes starred for two seasons in HBO's Westworld and two seasons in Netflix's The Punisher.
- Li will play Alina Starkov, a young orphaned soldier who uncovers a power that might finally unite her country. But as she struggles to hone her power, dangerous forces plot against her. Thugs, thieves, assassins and saints are all at war, and it will take more than magic to survive.
- Barnes will play General Kirigan, the commander of the magical military elite in the fantasy world.
- The cast will also feature Amita Suman, Freddy Carter, Archie Renaux, Kit Young, Sujaya Dasgupta, Danielle Galligan, Daisy Head and Simon Sears.
ABC's THE ROOKIE
- Mekia Cox has been cast as a new series regular on the drama's second season. She previously starred in the seventh season of ABC's Once Upon a Time. She has also recurred for three seasons on NBC's Chicago Med.
- She will play Detective Nyla Harper. After a four-year stint working undercover, she nearly lost herself. Now she's putting the uniform back on, hoping to find normalcy again as she takes on the role of training officer. However, with her home life in disarray, and the demons of undercover life still in her head, Nyla's got as much to learn as she does to teach.
