After airing two episodes, FOX has given a back-nine pickup to its original drama series Prodigal Son - bringing the first season to 22 episodes total. The pickup today is the first additional episode order for any new fall show on the broadcast networks.
The drama stars Tom Payne, Lou Diamond Phillips, Halston Sage, Aurora Perrineau, Frank Harts, Keiko Agena, Bellamy Young and Michael Sheen.
Chris Fedak and Sam Sklaver created the drama. They executive produce with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. Fox Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions produce.
"Prodigal Son delivers a fantastic crime procedural with a complicated and compelling father-son relationship at its core, thanks to the stellar performances from Tom Payne and Michael Sheen," said Michael Thorn, President, Fox Entertainment. "The series has razor-sharp writing, cinematic visuals and is an inventive twist on the genre. We want to thank our executive producers Greg, Sarah, Chris and Sam, Peter Roth and our partners at Warner Bros., and the entire cast and crew. We can't wait to see how this twisted journey continues to unfold."
