The 2019-20 broadcast season officially has its first casual. As has become common in recent years though, there is an asterisk alongside the news that a show is being pulled from the schedule. Tonight, NBC has opted to take comedy Sunnyside off its schedule. But the network has also ordered an additional episode of the comedy so the show can finish its run on the network's digital platforms.
Sunnyside will air its fourth episode on the linear channel this upcoming Thursday, October 17 at 9:30/8:30c. It will be the last episode to air in that time slot. The remainder of the 11-episode season will air weekly on the NBC App, NBC.com and other digital platforms.
The comedy stars Kal Penn, Diana-Maria Riva, Joel Kim Booster, Kiran Deol, Poppy Liu, Moses Storm and Samba Schutte.
Penn co-created the comedy with Matt Murray. They executive produce with Michael Schur, David Miner and Dan Spilo. Universal Television, 3 Arts Entertainment and Fremulon.
NBC has also announced today that the eleventh and final season of Will & Grace will replace fill the vacant Thursday night time slot starting on October 24.
The comedy stars Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes.
Max Mutchnick and David Kohan created the comedy. They executive produce with director James Burrows. Universal Television, KoMut Entertainment and 3 Princesses and a P Productions produce.
