Disney+ has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original comedy series Diary of a Future President executive produced by Gina Rodriguez, who also directs the first episode.
The comedy will premiere on Friday, January 17 and roll out new episodes on a weekly basis.
Told from the narration of her diary, the comedy follows Elena, a Cuban-American 12-year-old girl, as she navigates the ups and downs of middle school and begins her journey to become the future President of the United States.
The comedy stars Tess Romero, Charlie Bushnell, Selenis Leyva and Michael Weaver, with Gina Rodriguez appearing in a recurring role.
Ilana Peña created the comedy, with Robin Shorr serving as showrunner. They executive produce with Rodriguez, Emily Gipson and Brad Silberling. CBS Television Studios and I Can and I Will Productions produce.
