During its presentation to investors today, Peacock gave a series order to the original comedy series Girls5Eva from Emmy-winning executive producer Tina Fey (30 Rock).
The comedy explores what happens when a one-hit-wonder girl group from the '90s gets sampled by a young rapper and its members reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot. They may be grown women balancing spouses, kids, jobs, debt, aging parents and shoulder pain, but can't they also be Girls5Eva?
Meredith Scardino (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) created the comedy. She will executive produce with Fey, Robert Carlock, Jeff Richmond, David Miner and Eric Gurian. Universal Television, 3 Arts Entertainment and Little Stranger will produce.
