HBO has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original limited series The Third Day starring Jude Law and Naomie Harris.
The 6-episode limited series will debut on Monday, May 11 at 10/9c. The series is divided into two distinct story arcs - entitled "Summer" and "Winter."
Told over the first three episodes, "Summer" stars Jude Law as Sam, a man who is drawn to a mysterious island off the British coast where he encounters a group of islanders set on preserving their traditions at any cost.
"Summer" is written by Dennis Kelly and directed by Marc Munden.
"Winter" unfolds over the latter three episodes and stars Naomie Harris as Helen, a strong-willed outsider who comes to the island seeking answers, but whose arrival precipitates a fractious battle to decide its fate.
"Winter" is written by Kit de Waal, Dean O'Loughlin & Dennis Kelly and directed by Philippa Lowthorpe.
The cast also includes Katherine Waterston, Emily Watson and Paddy Considine.
Dennis Kelly executive produces with Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Felix Barrett. Sky Studios, Plan B Entertainment and Punchdrunk produce.
