DC Universe has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original drama series Stargirl starring Brec Bassinger.
The 13-episode first season will premiere on Monday, May 11. The first season will also make its linear debut on The CW starting the following day - Tuesday, May 12 at 9/8c.
The drama follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Bassinger) as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. The drama reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series.
In addition to Bassinger, the drama stars Luke Wilson, Amy Smart, Trae Romano, Cameron Gellman, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Meg DeLacy, Neil Jackson, Jake Austin Walker, Christopher James Baker and Hunter Sansone.
Geoff Johns developed the drama based on the DC Comics characters. He executive produces with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. Warner Bros. Television, DC Entertainment, Berlanti Productions and Mad Ghost Productions produce.
