ABC has today given a series order to the original multi-camera comedy series Call Your Mother starring Kyra Sedgwick. The pickup is the only one the network is expected to make today with its current slate of pilots.
The comedy follows an empty-nester mom (Sedgwick) who wonders how she ended up alone while her children live their best lives thousands of miles away. She decides her place is with her family and as she reinserts herself into their lives, her kids realize they might actually need her more than they thought.
In addition to Sedgwick, the comedy also stars Rachel Sennott, Joey Bragg, Patrick Brammall, Emma Caymares and Austin Crute.
Kari Lizer (The New Adventures of Old Christine) created the comedy. Sony Pictures Television and ABC Studios produce.
