CBS Gives Series Orders to Dramas 'Clarice' & 'The Equalizer' and Comedy 'B Positive'

After making its renewal decisions earlier this week, CBS has now given series orders to three new original scripted series - dramas Clarice and The Equalizer as well as comedy B Positive.






Clarice depicts a deep dive into the untold personal story of brilliant and vulnerable FBI Agent Clarice Starling as she returns to the field in 1993, six months after the events of The Silence of the Lambs.

The drama stars Rebecca Breeds, Kal Penn, Nick Sandow, Lucca De Oliveira, Devyn A. Tyler and Michael Cudlitz.

Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet created the drama. They will executive produce with Heather Kadin, with Aaron Baiers as a co-executive producer. CBS Television Studios, MGM Television and Secret Hideout will produce.

A reimagining of the classic CBS drama, The Equalizer stars Queen Latifah as an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn.

The cast also includes Chris Noth, Tory Kittles, Liza Lapira, Laya DeLeon Hayes and Lorraine Toussaint.

Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller created the drama. They will executive produce with Queen Latifah, John Davis, John Fox, Debra Martin Chase, Richard Lindheim, Shakim Compere and director Liz Friedlander. CBS Television Studios, Universal Television, Davis Entertainment, Martin Chase Productions and Flavor Unit will produce.

B Positive follows a therapist and newly divorced dad who is faced with finding a kidney donor when he runs into a rough-around-the-edges woman from his past who volunteers her own. Together they form an unlikely bond and begin a journey that will change both of their lives.

The comedy stars Thomas Middleditch, Annaleigh Ashford, Kether Donohue, Sara Rue and Kamryn Kunody.

Marco Pennette created the comedy. He will executive produce with Chuck Lorre. Warner Bros. Television and Chuck Lorre Productions will produce.
