AppleTV+ has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original comedy series Ted Lasso starring Jason Sudeikis (Saturday Night Live).
The first season will debut on Friday, August 14.
Sudeikis stars as Ted Lasso, a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer.
Sudeikis developed the series with Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly and Brendan Hunt based on the pre-existing format and characters from NBC Sports. They executive produce with Jeff Ingold. Liza Katzer serves as a co-executive producer. Warner Bros. Television, Universal Television and Doozer Productions produce.
