FOX renewed its original animated comedy series The Great North for a second season, it was announced today. The renewal comes ahead of the comedy's series debut in early 2021.
Set in Alaska, the animated comedy centers on the Tobin family, headed by single dad Beef. He does his best to keep his weird bunch of kids close - especially his only daughter, Judy, whose artistic dreams lead her away from the family fishing boat and into the glamorous world of the local mall.
The voice cast features Nick Offerman, Jenny Slate, Will Forte, Dulcé Sloan, Paul Rust, Aparna Nancherla, Megan Mullally and Alanis Morissette.
Wendy Molyneux, Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and Minty Lewis created the comedy. They executive produce with Bob's Burgers and Central Park creator Loren Bouchard. 20th Century Fox Television, Fox Entertainment and Bento Box Entertainment produce.
"Wendy, Lizzie, Minty and Loren delivered a show that embodies our animation brand so strongly, they left us no choice but to give this stellar series an early renewal ahead of its midseason debut," said Michael Thorn, President, Fox Entertainment. "Of course, we'd also like to thank our friends at 20th, who continue to be tremendous partners."
