Netflix has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original drama series Away starring Hilary Swank and Josh Charles.
All 10 episodes of the first season will be available on Friday, September 4.
The thrilling, emotional drama on an epic scale celebrates the incredible advancements humans can achieve and the personal sacrifices they must make along the way. As American astronaut Emma Green (Swank) prepares to lead an international crew on the first mission to Mars, she must reconcile her decision to leave behind her husband (Charles) and teenage daughter when they need her the most. As the crew's journey into space intensifies, their personal dynamics and the effects of being away from their loved ones back on Earth become increasingly complex. The drama shows that sometimes to reach for the stars, we must leave home behind.
In addition to Swank and Charles, the drama stars Mark Ivanir, Talitha Bateman, Ato Essandoh, Ray Panthaki, Vivian Wu and Monique Curnen.
Jason Katims and Andrew Hinderaker created the drama. They executive produce with Swank, showrunner Jessica Goldberg, Matt Reeves, Adam Kassan, Jeni Mulein and director Ed Zwick. Universal Television, True Jack Productions and 6th & Idaho Productions produce.
