HBO has today given a series order to a contemporary limited series adaptation of the 1973 Swedish series Scenes From a Marriage from Ingmar Bergman, with Emmy winner Michelle Williams (Fosse/Verdon) and Oscar Isaac (the Star Wars franchise) starring.
The limited series will re-examine the original miniseries' iconic depiction of love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple played by Isaac and Williams.
Hagai Levi (Our Boys, The Affair) developed the series and will direct. He will also executive produce with Williams, Issac, Michael Ellenberg, Lars Blomgren, Daniel Bergman and Blair Breard. Media Res and Endeavor Content will produce.
