Hulu has today given a series order to the original limited series The Girl From Plainville starring Elle Fanning (The Great).
Based on the Esquire article by Jesse Barron, the series will explore Michelle Carter's (Fanning) relationship with Conrad Roy III and the events that led to his death and, later, her controversial conviction of involuntary manslaughter.
Liz Hannah (The Post) and Patrick Macmanus (Dr. Death) developed the series. They will executive produce with Fanning and Brittany Kahan Ward. Barron and Erin Lee Carr will serve as consulting producers. Universal Content Productions, Echo Lake Entertainment and Littleton Road Productions will produce.
