TruTV Cancels 'I'm Sorry' After Two Seasons

TruTV has today decided not to move forward with production on the previously ordered third season of the original comedy series I'm Sorry. The decision was made due to the rising production costs associated with handling the COVID-19 pandemic on set.

As with the entire entertainment industry, I'm Sorry was forced to shut down production in mid-March due to the spread of the novel coronavirus. As the industry begins to re-start, several studios and networks are re-evaluating their priorities in a world of extensive protocols being put in place to ensure the safety of the casts and crews. All 10 episodes of the third season had already been written. TruTV's parent company WarnerMedia has also been undoing a major restructuring as it determines the best path forward for its various brands. TruTV remains in the scripted space with At Home with Amy Sedaris and Tacoma FD moving forward with new seasons.

I'm Sorry starred Andrea Savage, Tom Everett Scott and Olive Petrucci.

Savage also created the comedy. She executive produced with Joey Slamon, Ravi Nandan, Jessica Elbaim, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer. A24, Gloria Sanchez Productions and Lonely Island Classics produced.
