AppleTV+ has today given a series order to the original comedy series High Desert - which will serve as the third collaboration between Ben Stiller as director and Patricia Arquette as star.
The comedy centers on Peggy (Arquette), a former addict who decides to make a new start after the death of her beloved mother, with whom she lived in the small desert town of Yucca Valley, California. Peggy makes a life-changing decision to become a private investigator.
Nancy Fichman, Katie Ford and Jennifer Hoppe created the comedy. They will executive produce with Stiller, Arquette, Nicky Weinstock, Molly Madden and Tom Lassally. Red Hour Films and 3 Arts Entertainment will produce in association with Apple.
Stiller and Arquette first collaborated with the Showtime limited series Escape at Dannemora - which earned both of them Emmy nominations. They are currently working on the upcoming thriller Severance for AppleTV+, which also stars Adam Scott.
