NETFLIX's ON THE VERGE
- Sarah Jones, Giovanni Ribisi and Alexia Landeau will co-star on the upcoming dramedy starring Julie Delpy and Elisabeth Shue. Jones is a playwright and actor whose show Bridge & Tunnel won a Special Tony Award in 2016. Ribisi recently starred for three seasons in Amazon's Sneaky Pete. Landeau previously recurred on Hulu's The Path.
- The series centers on four female friends in their late forties (Delpy, Shue, Jones and Landeau) who choose to use midlife not as a time of mourning their youth, but as an opportunity for personal reinvention, with the hope of finally living lives that embody their beliefs and values.
- No details were immediately released about the character Ribisi will be playing.
HULU's DOPESICK
- Phillipa Soo and Jake McDorman have joined the cast of the upcoming limited series starring Michael Keaton, Peter Sarsgaard and Kaitlyn Dever. Soo received a Tony Award nomination for her lead performance in the musical Hamilton. McDorman stars in Disney+'s upcoming drama The Right Stuff.
- Soo will play Amber, a sales representative with Purdue Pharma who is part of the first team to sell OxyContin.
- McDorman will play John Brownlee, a U.S. Attorney overseeing the case against Purdue Pharma that focused on the marketing practices surrounding OxyContin.
