Amazon has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original hourlong animated series Invincible starring Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead, Minari) and J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, Counterpart).
The first three episodes of the 8-episode first season will be available on Friday, March 26, with new episodes being released weekly until the season finale on April 30.
Based on the comic of the same name, the series centers on 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Yeun), who's just like every other guy his age - except that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (Simmons). But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers that his father's legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.
The voice cast also includes Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman, Chris Diamantopoulos, Melise Jow, Kevin Michael Richardson, Grey Griffin, Max Burkholder and many more.
Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker developed the series, with Simon Racioppa serving as showrunner. They executive produce with David Alpert, Catherine Winder, Justin Copeland and Chris Copeland. Amazon Studios and Skybound Entertainment produce.
