Amazon's Modern Love; The CW's Kung Fu & Roswell, New Mexico; HBO's Succession; and Showtime's The First Lady.
AMAZON's MODERN LOVE
- Gbenga Akinnagbe, Susan Blackwell, Lucy Boynton, Tom Burke, Zoe Chao, Maria Dizzia, Minnie Driver, Grace Edwards, Dominique Fishback, Kathryn Gallagher, Kit Harington, Garrett Hedlund, Telci Huynh, Nikki M. James, Aparna Nancherla, Larry Owens, Zane Pais, Anna Paquin, Isaac Powell, Ben Rappaport, Milan Ray, Jack Reynor, Miranda Richardson, Marquis Rodriguez, James Scully, Zuzanna Szadkowski, Lulu Wilson, Don Wycherley and Jeena Yi will appear in the upcoming second season of the anthology series.
- John Carney, John Crowley, Marta Cunningham, Jesse Peretz and Andrew Rannells will direct episodes of the second season, with Celine Held and Logan George co-directing an episode.
SHOWTIME's THE FIRST LADY
- Gillian Anderson will play the third co-lead opposite Viola Davis and Michelle Pfeiffer in the upcoming anthology drama. She previously starred for eleven seasons in FOX's The X-Files, winning an Emmy Award in 1997 for her performance. She also starred for three seasons in Netflix's The Fall and one season in NBC's Hannibal. She currently stars in Netflix's Sex Education, which returns for its third season later this year. She recently played Margaret Thatcher in the fourth season of Netflix's The Crown.
- She will play Eleanor Roosevelt, who served as the First Lady of the United States from 1933 to 1945, making her the longest serving First Lady in history. She was an American political figure, diplomat and activist. Controversial for her outspokenness, particularly on civil rights, she was the first presidential spouse to hold regular press conferences, write a daily newspaper column and host a weekly radio show. She also pushed the United States to join and support the United Nations and became its first delegate.
HBO's SUCCESSION
- Hope Davis has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming third season. She previously starred for one season in HBO's In Treatment, two seasons in ABC's For the People and in the Showtime limited series Your Honor.
- She will play Sandi Furness, the daughter of Logan Roy's (Brian Cox) long-time rival, Sandy Furness (Larry Pine).
THE CW's KUNG FU
- Bradley Gibson has landed a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Olivia Liang. He has previously recurred on Starz's Power Book II: Ghost.
- He will play Joe Harper, a graphic artist and community organizer in Oakland. He is funny sexy, hip and deeply serious about his work and his activism, but equally committed to the joys of life: friendship, art and love. He is a social butterfly, having a foot in many of the San Francisco Bay Area's communities including gay San Francisco, bohemian San Francisco, the Black community of Oakland - which is where he grew up. Joe is an idealist, but he's profoundly realistic about the many obstacles to deep, systemic change. However, he can't keep his guard up about his love. He has an intensely romantic streak that will draw him to Nicky's (Liang) brother, Ryan (Jon Prasida). They couldn't be more different, but they find themselves drawn to each other, bonding over their shared passion for their respective communities.
THE CW's ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO
- Quentin Plair is set for a recurring role on the drama's upcoming third season. He has previously recurred on BET's The Quad and Showtime's The Good Lord Bird.
- He will play Dallas, a charmingly enigmatic preacher with the ability to divine people's troubles and provide them with the counsel they seek. He is thoughtful and well-versed in many religions. He has a passion for music and is able to quote scripture and lyrics from Biggie Smalls in the same breath. He draws others into his orbit with his unique outlook on the big mysteries of life and will cross paths with Rosa (Amber Midthunder) during a pivotal point on her road to recovery.
