HBO Max Orders 8 Episodes of Comedy 'Rap Sh*t' Created by Issa Rae

HBO has today given a series order to the original comedy series Rap Sh*t (working title) created by Insecure's Issa Rae. Production on the 8-episode first season will begin this summer.

The comedy follows two estranged high school friends from Miami who reunite to form a rap group.

Rae created the comedy, with Syreeta Singleton set to serve as showrunner. They will executive produce with Montrel McKay, Jonathan Berry and Dave Becky. Hip hop duo Yung Miami and JT of City Girls will co-executive produce alongside Kevin "Coach K" Lee, Pierre "P" Thomas and Sara Rastogi. Hoorae Productions, Quality Control Films and 3 Arts Entertainment will produce.
