Hulu has today given a series order to the original limited series Immigrant starring Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley, The Big Sick). The series will produce 8 episodes.
The series tells the true story of Somen "Steve" Banerjee (Nanjiani), the Indian-American entrepreneur who started Chippendales. The series will detail the insane, darkly comedic, crime-ridden story behind the unique male revue that became a cultural phenomenon.
Robert Siegel (Pam & Tommy) created the series. He will executive produce with Nanjiani, Dylan Sellers, Emily V. Gordon, Rajiv Joseph and Mehar Sethi. 20th Television will produce.
