Two years since it originally aired as a limited series, Amazon has today renewed Good Omens starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant for a second season. The drama will return with six new episodes.
The new season will explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale (Sheen), a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley (Tennant). Having been on Earth since The Beginning and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London's Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.
Neil Gaiman will return as co-showrunner alongside director Douglas Mackinnon. They executive produce with Rob Wilkins, John Finnemore and Josh Cole. The series is based on the bestselling novel by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Amazon Studios, BBC Studios, The Blank Corporation and Narrativia produce.
