SHOWTIME's THE FIRST LADY
- Kate Mulgrew and Ryan Jamaal Swain have joined the cast of the upcoming anthology series starring Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer and Gillian Anderson. Mulgrew previously starred for seven seasons in UPN's Star Trek: Voyager, seven seasons in Netflix's Orange Is the New Black and in the third season of Audience Network's Mr. Mercedes. Swain starred for two seasons in FX's Pose.
- Mulgrew will play Susan Sher, a longtime friend of the Obamas who worked with Michelle (Davis) in Chicago health care. She was originally hired as President Obama's (O-T Fagbenle) associate counsel but then rejoined Michelle as her closest confidante and chief of staff.
- Swain will play Johnny Wright, Michelle Obama's hairstylist in the White House.
AMAZON's THE TERMINAL LIST
- Catherine Dyer has landed a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Chris Pratt, Taylor Kitsch and Constance Wu. She has previously recurred on Netflix's Stranger Things and FOX's The Resident. She will next recur on the upcoming second season of AppleTV+'s The Morning Show.
- She will play Rachel Campbell, James Reece's (Pratt) mother-in-law. After an unspeakable tragedy befalls her family, she wears her grief on her sleeve, and lets her doubts about her son-in-law be known.
NETFLIX's THE PENTAVERATE
- Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key, Debi Mazar, Richard McCabe, Jennifer Saunders and Lydia West will co-star on the upcoming comedic limited series created by and starring Mike Myers. Jeong serves as a judge on FOX's The Masked Singer and as the host of FOX's I Can See Your Voice, which have both been renewed for new seasons. Key stars in AppleTV+'s upcoming musical comedy Schimigadoon. Mazar currently stars in Younger, which ends after seven seasons later this week on Paramount+. McCabe recently appeared in Netflix's Collateral. Saunders starred for six seasons in BBC One's Absolutely Fabulous. West starred in the HBO limited series Years and Years and in the HBO Max limited series It's a Sin.
- No details were immediately announced about the characters the new cast additions will be playing. Moreover, Myers will be playing 7 characters in the series.
- The streaming service has, however, released an official logline: "What if a secret society of five men has been working to influence world events for the greater good since the Black Plague of 1347? One unlikely Canadian journalist finds himself embroiled in a mission to uncover the truth and just possibly save the world himself. Remember, the Pentaverate must never be exposed!"
