Peacock Gives Straight-to-Series Order for 'Ted' Prequel

Peacock has today given a series order to the original comedy series Ted - a prequel to the hit film franchise from Seth MacFarlane.

MacFarlane is in negotiations to reprise the voice of the lovable foul-mouthed teddy bear.

MacFarlane and Erica Huggins will executive produce the series. Universal Content Productions, MRC Television and Fuzzy Door Productions will produce.

The 2012 film became the highest-grossing original R-rated comedy of all time (not a sequel or based on other IP) and spawned a 2015 sequel. Collectively, the two films grossed more than $750 million worldwide.
