The mid-credits sequence of the just-released first season finale of the original drama series Loki revealed that a second season has officially been ordered. The renewal marks the first MCU series on Disney+ to continue for another season.
Loki stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, Sasha Lane, Jack Veal, DeObia Oparei, Richard E. Grant and Owen Wilson.
Michael Waldron created the drama, with Kate Herron directing the entire first season. They executive produce with Hiddleston, Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Stephen Broussard. Marvel Studios produces.
The drama was the third series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe headlined by characters from the films to debut on Disney+ this year. Yesterday, the first two series - WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - both received multiple Emmy Award nominations. However, WandaVision is set as a limited series while the future of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has not been officially announced. Meanwhile, the fourth series - the animated anthology What If...? - is set to debut on the streamer next month.
