Disney+ has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original dramedy series Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. - inspired by the 1989-93 sitcom Doogie Howser, M.D., which aired on ABC.
The first season will launch on Wednesday, September 8 - with new episodes being released weekly.
The coming-of-age dramedy follows Lahela "Doogie" Kamealoha, a 16-year-old prodigy juggling a budding medical career and life as a teenager. With the support of her caring and comical family and friends, she is determined to make the most of her teenage years and forge her own path.
The series stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Kathleen Rose Perkins, Jason Scott Lee, Matthew Sato, Wes Tian, Emma Meisel, Mapuana Makia and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman.
Kourtney Kang created the series. She executive produces with Jake Kasdan, Melvin Mar, Dayna Bochco, Jesse Bochco, Erin O'Malley, Matt Kuhn and Justin McEwen. 20th Television produces.
