FX's SHOGUN
- Anna Sawai has been cast as the female lead on the upcoming limited series starring Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis. Furthermore, Tadanobu Asano, Fumi Nikaido, Tokuma Nishioka, Takehiro Hira, Ako, Shinnosuke Abe, Yasunari Takeshima, Hiroto Kanai, Toshi Toda, Hiro Kanagawa, Nestor Carbonell, Yuki Kura, Tommy Bastow, Moeka Hoshi, Yoriko Doguchi and Yuka Kouri will round out the ensemble cast.
- Sawai (Pachinko) will play Lady Mariko, the revered daughter of an infamous samurai traitor, whom Lord Toranaga (Sanada) enlists to avenge her father's death.
- No details were immediately released about the characters the other cast additions will be playing today.
FOX's MONARCH
- Faith Prince has booked a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Susan Sarandon, Anna Friel and Trace Adkins. She has received four Tony Award nominations - winning in 1992 for her performance in the musical Guys and Dolls. She has also recurred on Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva, ABC Family's Melissa & Joey and ABC's Modern Family.
- She will play Nellie Cantrell, Dottie's (Sarandon) trouble-loving younger sister.
