Months ahead of its second season return, Netflix has today renewed its original drama series The Witcher for a third season. The announcement was made during the streamer's fan event Netflix Tudum.
The drama stars Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, MyAnna Buring, Tom Canton, Lilly Cooper, Jeremy Crawford, Eamon Farren, Mahesh Jadu, Terence Maynard, Lars Mikkelson, Mimi Ndiweni, Royce Pierreson, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte, Anna Shaffer, Therica Wilson Read, Yasen Atour, Agnes Bjorn, Paul Bullion, Thue Ersted Rasmussen, Aisha Fabienne Ross, Kristofer Hivju, Mecia Simson, Carmel Laniado, Adjoa Andoh, Cassie Clare, Liz Carr, Graham McTavish, Kevin Doyle, Simon Callow, Chris Fulton and Kim Bodnia.
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich developed the drama. She executive produces with Tomek Baginski, Jason F. Brown, Sean Daniel, Mike Ostrowski, Steve Gaub and Jaroslaw Sawko.
The drama's second season returns on Friday, December 17. Moreover, a limited series prequel - titled The Witcher: Blood Origin - debuts in 2022 starring Sophia Brown, Laurence O'Fuarain and Michelle Yeoh. A second anime film set in the universe has also been ordered by the streaming service.
