Paramount+ has today given a series order to the original drama series Skymed created by Julie Puckrin (Killjoys). Production has already begun in Manitoba and Ontario for a 2022 premiere.
Life, death and drama at 20,000 feet, the drama weaves together intense character journeys and high-stakes medical rescues, as we follow the triumphs, heartbreaks and tribulations of budding nurses and pilots flying air ambulances in remote Northern Canada. They're all in over their heads, and on their own, with no one to rely on but each other.
The drama will star Natasha Calis, Ace "Aason" Nadjiwan, Morgan Holmstrom, Praneet Akilla, Thomas Elms, Mercedes Morris, Kheon Clarke, Rebecca Kwan, Braeden Clarke and Aaron Ashmore.
Puckrin will executive produce with Vanessa Piazza, Ron Murphy, Gillian Hormel, Kyle Irving, Lisa Meeches and director Steve Adelson. Jennica Harper and Nikolijne Troubetzkoy are co-executive producers. CBS Studios, Piazza Entertainment and Eagle Vision will produce.
