'That '70s Show' Spinoff 'That '90s Show' Starring Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp Ordered to Series at Netflix

Netflix has today given a series order to the original comedy series That '90s Show, a spinoff of sitcom That '70s Show with Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp reprising their roles. The first season will produce 10 episodes.

Set in Wisconsin in 1995, Leia Forman - the daughter of Eric and Donna - visits her grandparents for the summer where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty (Rupp) and the stern glare of Red (Smith). Sex, drugs and rock 'n roll never dies, it just changes clothes.

Gregg Mettler, Bonnie Turner, Terry Turner and Lindsay Turner created the comedy, with Mettler serving as showrunner for the first season. They will executive produce with Smith, Rupp, Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner. The Carsey-Werner Company will produce.

That '70s Show ran for eight seasons on FOX from 1998-2006. The cast also featured Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama and Don Stark. Additional actors from the original series are expected to appear in the spinoff, though no deals have been signed yet.
