Combining teen comedy with horror, action-adventure, mystery and psychological thrill, the series will follow a group of five high schoolers who unleash supernatural forces upon their town and must all work together - thanks to and in spite of their friendships, rivalries and pasts with each other - in order to save it, learning much about their own parents' teenage secrets in the process.
Nick Stoller and Rob Letterman developed the series, with Letterman set to direct the premiere. They will executive produce with Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Conor Welch, Iole Lucchese and Caitlin Friedman. Sony Pictures Television and Scholastic Entertainment will produce.
The adaptation marks the second series at Disney+ developed from Stine's work - following Just Beyond, an episodic anthology series which debuted in October 2021.
