Showtime has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series The Man Who Fell to Earth starring Academy Award-nominated actors Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) and Naomie Harris (Moonlight).
The drama will launch on Sunday, April 24 at 10/9c. with its first two episodes airing back-to-back.
Inspired by the Walter Tevis novel of the same name and the iconic David Bowie film, the drama will follow a new alien character (Ejiofor) who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future.
In addition to Ejiofor and Harris, the drama stars Jimmi Simpson, Rob Delaney, Sonya Cassidy, Joana Ribeiro, Annelle Olaleye, Kate Mulgrew, Clarke Peters and Bill Nighy.
Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet developed the drama. They executive produce with Ejiofor, John Hlavin, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Rola Bauer and Françoise Guyonnet. CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, Timberman/Beverly Productions and StudioCanal produce.
