The 6-episode season will launch on Friday, May 13 with its first two episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Friday.
Based on the novel by Sarah Perry, London widow Cora Seaborne (Danes) moves to Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent. She forms an unlikely bond with the village vicar (Hiddleston) but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting the creature.
In addition to Danes and Hiddleston, the drama stars Frank Dillane, Clémence Poésy, Hayley Squires and Jamael Westman.
Anna Symon developed the drama. She executive produces with Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Patrick Walters and director Clio Barnard. See-Saw Films produces.
