FOX Renews '9-1-1' and 'The Resident'

At the last second before the network started its Upfronts presentation, FOX closed deals for new seasons of its original drama series 9-1-1 and The Resident. Both drams will return with their sixth seasons during the broadcast network's upcoming 2022-23 schedule.

9-1-1 stars Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Ryan Guzman, Corinne Massiah, Marcanthonee Jon Reis, Gavin McHugh and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear created the drama. They executive produce with Bassett, Krause, Juan Carlos Coto, Kristen Reidel, Alexis Martin Woodall, John J. Gray and Bradley Buecker. 20th Television, Ryan Murphy Television, Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision and ReamWorks produce.

The renewal also comes ahead of tonight's Season 5 finale.

The Resident stars Matt Czuchry, Manish Dayal, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Jessica Lucas, Anuja Joshi, Jane Leeves and Bruce Greenwood.

Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore and Roshan Sethi created the drama. Jones executive produces with Antoine Fuqua, Todd Harthan, Oly Obst and David Boorstein. 20th Television, Fuqua Films and 3 Arts Entertainment produce.

The renewal comes ahead of tomorrow's Season 5 finale.
