Paramount+ has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original comedy series Players created by Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault.
The 10-episode first season will premiere on Thursday, June 16 with its first three episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Thursday.
The comedic documentary-style series follows a fictional pro "League of Legends" esports team as they pursue their first championship after years of close calls and heartache. To win it all, they will need their prodigy, a 17-year-old rookie, and their 27-year-old veteran to put their egos aside and work together.
The comedy stars Misha Brooks, Da'Jour Jones, Ely Henry, Kyle Braxton, Holly Chou, Stephen Schneider, Peter Thurnwald, Youngbin Chung, Moses Storm, Alexa Mansour, Noh "Arrow" Dong-Hyeon, Michael "Miko" Ahn, Luke Tennie and Dan Perrault.
Yacenda and Perrault executive produce with Joe Farrell, Mike Farah, Jim Ziegler, Tim McAuliffe, Ari Lubet and Todd Sellers. CBS Studios, Funny or Die, Riot Games, 3 Arts Entertainment and Brillstein Entertainment Partners produce.
