HBO Max has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original comedy series Gordita Chronicles starring Olivia Goncalves.
All 10 episodes of the comedy's first season will be available on Thursday, June 23.
Set in 1985, Cucu "Gordita" Castelli (Goncalves) has just said goodbye to all of her friends and family in Santo Domingo and moved to Miami with her marketing executive father Victor, bold and vivacious mother Adela, and status-obsessed older sister Emilia. While life in America is far from what they imagined, the Castellis are determined to take charge of their strange new world. A uniquely funny coming-of-age series, the comedy is about family, opportunity, love, resilience, and boldly defying the status quo in pursuit of the "American Dream."
In addition to Goncalves, the comedy stars Diana Maria Riva, Juan Javier Cardenas, Savannah Nicole Ruiz, Noah Rico, Cosette Hauer and Dascha Polanco.
Claudia Forestieri created the comedy, with Brigitte Munoz-Liebowitz serving as showrunner. They executive produce with Eva Longoria, Zoe Saldana, Mariel Saldana, Cisely Saldana, Josh Berman, Jennifer Robinson and Chris King. Sony Pictures Television, Bons Mots Emporium, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, Osprey Productions and Cinestar Pictures produce.
