Spectrum has today decided to cancel its original drama series Long Slow Exhale after one season. The drama completed its 12-episode first and only season on April 25, 2022.
When the drama was originally picked up, it was to be produced as a Spectrum Original with the streaming service having exclusive rights for a nine-month window. The drama would then launch with a second window on BET. The cancellation decision was made solely from how the show performed in its opening window. It's unclear if BET would be interested in picking up the drama for more - though a decision would have to be made before the episodes make their debut on the channel to avoid losing any cast members.
The drama starred Rose Rollins, Josh Lucas, Ian Harding, Lyriq Bent, Shalini Bathina, Enajite Esegine, Brittney Elena, Jazmine Stewart, Isabella Star LaBlanc, Carmen Flood and Erin Croom.
Pam Veasey created the drama. She executive produced with Bruna Papandrea, Casey Haver, John Dove and Anton Cropper. Paramount Television Studios and Made Up Stories produced.
