NETFLIX's BRIDGERTON
- Daniel Francis, Sam Phillips and James Phoon have been cast on the drama's upcoming third season. Francis previously starred in the Netflix limited series Stay Close. Phillips recurred on Netflix's The Crown. Phoon stars in the BBC limited series Wreck.
- Francis will play Marcus Anderson, a charismatic presence who lights up any room he enters, attracting the notice of certain matriarchs in the ton - and the ire of others.
- Phillips will play Lord Debling, a genial lord with unusual interests. But with wealth and a noble title to back up his eccentricities, he'll have no shortage of interest from young ladies this season.
- Phoon will play Harry Dankworth. What he lacks in wit and intelligence, he more than makes up for with serious good looks.
ABC's ABBOTT ELEMENTARY
- William Stanford Davis has been promoted to series regular on the comedy's upcoming second season. He recurred during the first season - appearing in 12 episodes overall. He previously recurred on OWN's If Loving You Is Wrong, Showtime's Ray Donovan, TNT's Snowpiercer and AppleTV+'s Swagger.
- He plays Mr. Johnson, Abbott Elementary's eccentric custodian.
HULU's BLACK CAKE
- Lashay Anderson, Faith Alabi and Ahmed Elhaj have joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Adrienne Warren, Ashley Thomas and Mia Isaac. Anderson stars in the BBC/Netflix limited series Rebel Cheer Squad. Alabi starred in the HBO limited series We Are Who We Are. Elhaj recurs on Starz's upcoming drama Dangerous Liaisons.
- Anderson will play Bunny Pringle, a fiery teenager and talented swimmer who struggles to fit in with her peers in 1960s Jamaica. She and her best friend Covey (Isaac) have big plans to become world-famous swimmers. But when Covey disappears under mysterious circumstances, Bunny is forced to reckon with unforeseen consequences in her own life.
- Alabi will play Pearl Thomas, a stoic and genuine, lovable caretaker for the Lyncook household at a time when things are increasingly dangerous and uncertain. Through it all, she remains unwavering in her devotion to Covey - a gesture that's rooted in a secret pact she made with the child's estranged mother, who vanished six years ago.
- Elhaj will recur as Gibbs Grant. After meeting and falling hard for Covey, his bright future is thrown into disarray. As the two encounter countless obstacles, his love for Covey is put to the ultimate test.
APPLE TV+'s UNTITLED GODZILLA DRAMA
- Father and son actors Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell will star together in the upcoming drama created by Chris Black and Matt Fraction. Kurt Russell currently stars in the Fast & Furious and Christmas Chronicles film franchises. Wyatt Russell previously starred for two seasons in AMC's Lodge 49, in the Disney+ limited series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and in the FX limited series Under the Banner of Heaven.
- No details were immediately announced about the characters they will be playing.
NBC's NEW AMSTERDAM
- Freema Agyeman will not return for the drama's upcoming fifth and final season. She has starred in the medical drama for all four seasons. She has already booked her next role: starring in the Sky Original comedy Dreamland opposite Lily Allen.
- Agyeman released the following statement on her departure: "Dearest Dam Fam. First off I would like to say a huge heartfelt thank you for your unending dedicated and deliciously ferocious support! I feel very fortunate to have connected with so many of you over these past few years, while rolling around in the skin of Ms. Helen Sharpe, and witness every ebb and flow of your emotional investment. What a ride! Thank you for being on it with me. She has meant so much to me, but the time has come for me to hang up her white coat, as I officially share the news that I will not be returning for the final season of New Amsterdam. While I am saddened, I am also incredibly excited to see how the story concludes as a fan of the series. It has been such a joy to play Dr. Helen Sharpe for 4 seasons - those writers built a badass! Beyond grateful for the opportunity to tell some of her stories! Fanfic - it's over to you to tell the rest!! Lots of love Fam!"
- Showrunner David Schulner and executive producer Peter Horton added: "We wish Freema the best of luck on her next chapter and the doors of New Amsterdam will always be open if she wishes to return! We are extremely proud of the impact Freema and Dr. Helen Sharpe have made over these past four seasons and are so grateful to have been a part of that story. As head into the fifth and final season, we want our #Sharpwin fans to know we still have a few surprises in store for them."
