During the drama's panel at San Diego Comic-Con today, AMC announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Interview With the Vampire based on the novels by Anne Rice.
The 8-episode first season will launch on Sunday, October 2 at 10/9c. The first two episodes will be available to stream on AMC+ that same night.
The drama follows Louis de Pointe du Lac, Lestat de Lioncourt and Claudia's epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy. Chafing at the limitations of life as a black man in 1900s New Orleans, Louis finds it impossible to resist the rakish Lestat's offer of the ultimate escape: joining him as his vampire companion. But Louis' intoxicating new powers come with a violent price, and the introduction of Lestat's newest fledgling, the child vampire Claudia, soon sets them on a decades-long path of revenge and atonement.
Sam Reid, Jacob Anderson, Bailey Bass and Eric Bogosian star in the drama.
Rolin Jones developed the drama. He executive produces with Rice, Mark Johnson, Christopher Rice and director Alan Taylor. AMC Studios produces.
