Showtime has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Let the Right One In starring Demián Bichir.
The 10-episode first season will premiere on Sunday, October 9 at 10/9c.
Inspired by the Swedish novel and film, the series centers on Mark (Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor, whose lives were changed 10 years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive. With these emotionally charged and terrifying ingredients as a starting point, the series will upend genre expectations, turning a naturalistic lens on human frailty, strength and compassion.
In addition to Bichir, the drama stars Anika Noni Rose, Grace Gummer, Madison Taylor Baez, Kevin Carroll, Ian Foreman, Jacob Buster and Nick Stahl.
Andrew Hinderaker created the drama. He executive produces with Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements and director Seith Mann. Bichir serves as a producer, with Alissa Bachner set as a co-executive producer. Tomorrow Studios produces.
