Syfy has today renewed its original dramedy series Resident Alien for a third season. The series is expected to return with 12 new episodes in 2023.
The renewal comes ahead of the dramedy's return for the second half of Season 2 - comprising another eight episodes - on Wednesday, August 10 at 9/8c.
The upcoming episodes pick up in the immediate aftermath of the shocking action Asta took to save Harry's life. They must deal with the emotional fallout of the night all while searching for the alien baby - a search that leads to big realizations for each of them. Meanwhile, Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv solve a big case, Ben and Kate attempt to sell Patience on a new resort, and D'Arcy fights the challenge of a lifetime.
The series stars Alan Tudyk, Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund, Levi Fiehler, Judah Prehn and Elizabeth Bowen.
Chris Sheridan developed the series based on the Dark Horse comics. He executive produces with Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. Universal Content Productions, Amblin Television and Dark Horse Entertainment produce.
