ABC has today given a series order to the original drama series The Company You Keep starring Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us). The drama will debut at midseason during the broadcast network's upcoming 2022-23 schedule.
Based on the Korean format My Fellow Citizens, a night of passion leads to love between con man Charlie (Ventimiglia) and undercover CIA officer Emma, who unknowingly are on a collision course professionally. While Charlie ramps up the "family business" so he can get out for good, Emma's closing in on the vengeful criminal who holds Charlie's family debts in-hand - forcing them to reckon with the lies they've told so they can save themselves and their families from disastrous consequences.
In addition to Ventimiglia, the drama stars Catherine Haena Kim, Tim Chiou, Freda Foh Shen, James Saito, Felisha Terrell, Polly Draper, Sarah Wayne Callies and William Fichtner.
Julia Cohen wrote the pilot, which was directed by Ben Younger. Cohen will serve as co-showrunner alongside Phil Klemmer. All three will executive produce with Ventimiglia, Russ Cundiff, Jon M. Chu, Caitlin Foito, Todd Harthan and Lindsay Goffman. 20th Television, DiVide Pictures and Electric Somewhere Company will produce.
