AppleTV+ has today given a series order to the original drama series Sinking Spring starring Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta, Eternals). The first season will produce 8 episodes.
Based on the novel Dope Thief by Dennis Tafoya, the series will follow long-time Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern seaboard.
Peter Craig (The Batman, Top Gun: Maverick) created the series, with Ridley Scott (The Martian, House of Gucci) set to direct. They will executive produce with Henry, David W. Zucker, Jordan Sheehan and Clayton Krueger. Tafoya will serve as a consulting producer. Apple Studios and Scott Free Productions will produce.
