NETFLIX's SURVIVAL OF THE THICKEST
- Tone Bell and Tasha Smith have joined the cast of the upcoming comedy created by and starring Michelle Buteau. Bell previously starred in Netflix's one-season comedy Disjointed and in CBS' one-season comedy Fam. Smith recurred on FOX's Empire.
- Bell will play Khalil, Mavis' (Buteau) bestie and first phone call since high school. He's a creative and talented artist who has always prided himself on making life choices that keep things simple, affordable and uncomplicated. But now in his very late 30s, he starts to question what really matters and if life is worth complicating for the right person.
- Smith will play Marley, a self-made millionaire in her early 50s. She's a woman of NYC status who always has a fresh luxury manicure and the best day and night serums money can buy. She gives that Aries tell-it-like-it-is energy, but there's still an ever-present warm big sister vibe. She just wants the best for everybody, and she knows what the best is.
AMAZON's THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY
- Kyra Sedgwick and Elsie Fisher have landed recurring roles on the drama's upcoming second season. Sedgwick won an Emmy Award in 2010 for her lead performance in TNT's The Closer. Fisher recently starred in the Netflix film Texas Chainsaw Massacre and recurred on HBO's Barry.
- No details were immediately announced about the characters they will be playing.
APPLE TV+'s THE MORNING SHOW
- Tig Notaro has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming third season. The stand-up comedian previously created and starred in Amazon's One Mississippi, which ran for two seasons. She also recurs on Paramount+'s Star Trek: Discovery, which has been renewed for a fifth season.
- She will play Amanda Robinson, the chief of staff to corporate titan Paul Marks (Jon Hamm).
DISNEY+'s IRONHEART
- Regan Aliyah will appear in the upcoming drama starring Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos and Alden Ehrenreich. She stars in Netflix's upcoming comedy XO, Kitty - a spinoff of Netflix's To All the Boys film franchise.
- No details were immediately announced about the character she will be playing.
