SHOWTIME's KING SHAKA
- Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Mustafa Shakir, Terry Pheto and Lerato Mvelase have joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Charles Babalola. Akinnuoye-Agbaje previously starred for two seasons in HBO's Oz and two seasons in ABC's Lost. Shakir starred in the second season of Netflix's Luke Cage. Pheto starred in the 2005 feature film Tsotsi, which won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. Mvelase starred in the South African drama Home Affairs.
- Akinnuoye-Agbaje will play Zwide, the sadistic Chief of Ndwandwe. Although a loving family man, he employs ruthless fighting methods and terrifying brutal strength.
- Shakir will play Dingiswayo, an ousted prince who becomes Shaka's (Babalola) mentor and de facto father figure.
- Pheto will recur as Juma, Zwide's devotedly pious yet conspiring wife.
- Mvelase will recur as Mkabayi, the elder sister to Shaka's father and the most influential voice in the royal court.
PARAMOUNT+'s 1923
- Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves and Julia Schlaepfer have been cast as series regulars on the upcoming drama starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Mann previously recurred on Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and TNT's Animal Kingdom. Randolph starred in the 2018 film A Snow White Christmas. Dale currently stars in Starz's Hightown, which has been renewed for a third season. Shelton stars in the Scream film franchise. Geraghty starred for two seasons in NBC's Chicago P.D. and two seasons in ABC's Big Sky. Nieves starred in the 2021 film Blueberry. Schlaepfer starred for two seasons in Netflix's The Politician.
- Mann will play Jack Dutton, John Dutton Sr.'s son and great nephew to Jacob Dutton (Ford). He is a dedicated rancher who is deeply loyal to his family.
- Randolph will play Elizabeth Strafford, a feist and capable young woman set to marry into the Dutton family.
- Dale will play John Dutton Sr., the oldest nephew and right-hand man of Jacob Dutton.
- Shelton will play Emma Dutton, the dutiful wife of John Dutton Sr. and the mother of Jack Dutton.
- Geraghty will play Zane, a fiercely loyal ranch foreman.
- Nieves will play Teonna Rainwater, a young woman at a government residential boarding school.
- Schlaepfer will play Alexandra, a British woman who meets one of the Duttons aboard.
HBO MAX's FULL CIRCLE
- Claire Danes will star in the upcoming limited series from Ed Solomon and Steven Soderbergh. She is a three-time Emmy Award winner for Showtime's Homeland and HBO's Temple Grandin. She recently starred in the AppleTV+ limited series The Essex Serpent and next stars in FX's upcoming limited series Fleishman Is In Trouble.
- She will play a Manhattan attorney running her father's family business.
DISNEY+'s THE ACOLYTE
- Lee Jung-jae is set as a series regular on the upcoming drama starring Amandla Stenberg and Jodie Turner-Smith. He is currently Emmy nominated for his lead performance in Netflix's Squid Game.
- No details were immediately announced about the character he will be playing.
HULU's CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN MURDER AND MAYHEM
- Linda Emond, Jayne Atkinson, David Marshall Grant, Jack Cutmore-Scott, Michael Gladis, Lisa Lu, Danny Johnson, Karoline Xu, Jere Burns, Sincere Wilbert, Tamberla Perry and Sophia Reid Gantzert have landed recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Mandy Patinkin and Violett Beane.
- Emond (Lodge 49, The Patient) will play Agent Hilde Eriksen, a shrewd, bureaucratic Interpol agent who comes on board the SS Varuna to investigate after a murder takes place.
- Atkinson (24, House of Cards) will play Katherine Collier, the whip smart wife to Lawrence Collier.
- Grant (The Devil Wears Prada, Code Black) will play Lawrence Collier, a powerful tycoon.
- Cutmore-Scott (Deception, Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life) will play Tripp, Katherine and Lawrence's son.
- Gladis (Mad Men, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels) will play Keith Trubitsy, a cruise guest and investor in Tripp Collier's latest venture.
- Lu (Crazy Rich Asians, The Last Emperor) will play Celia Chun, the matriarch of the wealthy Chun family.
- Johnson (Luke Cage, Daredevil) will play Father Toby, an Episcopalian priest and political kingmaker.
- Xu (Evil, WeCrashed) will play Eleanor, Celia's granddaughter.
- Burns (Justified, Angie Tribeca) will play Llewellyn Mathers, the longtime general counsel of Collier Mills.
- Wilbert will play That Derek.
- Perry (The Good Fight, All American: Homecoming) will play Governor Alexandra Hochenberg.
- Gantzert (The Baby-Sitters Club, Psych 3: This Is Gus) will play Young Imogene - played in the present by Beane.
PARAMOUNT+'s STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS
- Carol Kane has come aboard the drama's upcoming second season in a recurring role. She previously starred for two seasons in ABC/NBC's Taxi, four seasons in Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and in the first season of Amazon's Hunters.
- She will play Pelia. Highly educated and intelligent, this engineer suffers no fools. She solves problems calmly and brusquely, thanks to her many years of experience.
