Paramount+ has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming fifth season of the original sketch comedy series Inside Amy Schumer - five years after its last episodes were released on Comedy Central.
The 5-episode fifth season will launch on Thursday, October 20 with its first two episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Thursday.
The series last aired new episodes in 2016 on Comedy Central. Amy Schumer stepped away from the show to focus on her film career, even though a fifth season had already been ordered. During its first four seasons, the series was nominated for 12 Primetime Emmy Awards - ultimately winning three.
The films Schumer made during the hiatus include Snatched, I Feel Pretty, Thank You for Your Service and The Humans. She's also expanded her television portfolio - most notably with Hulu's Life & Beth, which has been renewed for a second season. She also stars in the unscripted series Amy Schumer Learns to Cook on Food Network and Amy Learns To... on HBO Max.
