Peacock has today given a series order to the original animated comedy series In the Know - reuniting Silicon Valley creator Mike Judge and star Zach Woods. The order marks the first adult animated series for the streamer.
The comedy will center on Lauren Caspian, NPR's third most popular host. He's a well-meaning, hypocritical nimrod, just like you and me. He's also a stop motion puppet. Each episode will follow the making of an episode of Lauren's show "In the Know," in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real world human guests. Lauren collaborates with a diverse cast of NPR staff, who are also puppets and nimrods.
Judge and Woods will provide voices for the characters.
Judge and Woods also co-created the series with Brandon Gardner. All three will executive produce with Greg Daniels and Dustin Davis. Universal Television and Bandera Entertainment will produce.
"In the Know will capture the conversations so many of us have in our daily lives in a heightened, hilarious way," said Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. "We're excited to be working with the very best in the business in Mike, Greg, Zach and Brandon, and our partners at Universal Television."
