HBO's THE SYMPATHIZER
- Hoa Xuande, Fred Nguyen Khan, Toan Le, Vy Le and Alan Trong have joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Robert Downey Jr. Xuande previously recurred on Netflix's Cowboy Bebop. Khan guest starred on Paramount+'s Blood & Treasure and NBC's Transplant. Toan Le appeared in the 2012 film Bigfoot. Vy Le is a newcomer. Trong appeared in the Amazon film The Tomorrow War.
- Xuande will play The Captain, a spy for North Vietnam embedded in the refugee community in Los Angeles. A man of two minds and dual identities, he is caught between conflicting loyalties, contradicting desires, and is ultimately forced to confront what it means to sympathize.
- Khan will play Bon, the Captain's childhood friend who refuses to bring the Captain's multiple identities into focus. A proud member of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam, Bon arrives in Los Angeles after a tragic loss and ultimately finds new meaning in the most unlikely of places and circumstances.
- Toan Le will play The General, the larger-than-life former leader of the South Vietnamese Secret Police. Overtaken by paranoia, he is fixated on sniffing out traitors amongst the refugee community in Los Angeles and is in feverish pursuit of his goal to lead a counter-revolutionary mission back in his homeland.
- Vy Le will play Lana, the rebellious daughter of the General. Fluent in both American and Vietnamese culture, she has an uncanny skill of absorbing and adapting to American popular culture, a capacity that is dizzying for the Captain and unnerving for her father.
- Trong will play Sonny, the idealistic former classmate of the Captain and now the editor of a Los Angeles Vietnamese-language newspaper. He is free to pursue his desires and ideals with open passion which provides the perfect foil for the Captain.
DISNEY+'s THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES
- Momona Tamada and Alyvia Alyn Lind have booked recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Lyon Daniels, Noah Cottrell and Mychala Lee. Tamada previously starred for two seasons in Netflix's The Baby-Sitters Club. Lind currently stars in Syfy/USA's Chucky, which is now airing its second season.
- Tamada will play Emiko, a local teenager in Henson and a member of the out-patient group therapy at the Meskwaki Psychiatric Hospital. Diagnosed as a pathological liar, it's hard to know when she is telling the truth. It's clear that as a townie she has also grown-up hearing about the mysterious goings-on at the Spiderwick Estate and is curious about its newest resident, Jared Grace (Daniels).
- Lind will play Calliope, a perfectly normal girl - but that is only her exterior. She is in fact a Fetch (a portent of death) who has taken this disguise to be able to stay close to the evil ogre, Mulgarath (Christian Slater), and assist in his quest to find Spiderwick's Field Guide.
