The original drama series Dead Boy Detectives starring George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri and Kassius Nelson is moving from HBO Max to Netflix. The move comes after DC Entertainment executives didn't see the drama falling in-line with their interconnected universe plans for shows on HBO Max.
Based on the DC Comics characters, this fresh take on a ghost story explores loss, grief and death through the lens of Edwin Payne (Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Revri), two dead British teenagers, and their very alive friend, Crystal Palace (Nelson). It's a lot like a vintage detective series - only darker and on acid.
In addition to Rexstrew, Revri and Nelson, the drama stars Briana Cuoco, Ruth Connell, Yuyu Kitamura and Jenn Lyon.
Recurring guest stars include Lukas Gage, Michael Beach, Joshua Colley, Lindsey Gort, Caitlin Reilly, Max Jenkins and David Iacono.
Steve Yockey developed the drama. He serves as showrunner alongside Beth Schwartz. They executive produce with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Jeremy Carver, Leigh London Redman and director Lee Toland Krieger. Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions produce.
