ABC's THE HURT UNIT
- Ashley Romans has been cast as a series regular on the drama pilot starring Ben McKenzie and Melissa George. Romans will replace Jaime Lee Kirchner in the pilot. The recast occurred after Kirchner left due to creative differences. Romans previously starred for two seasons in AMC's NOS4A2 and in FX's one-season drama Y: The Last Man. She will next be seen recurring on Peacock's upcoming drama Mrs. Davis.
- She will play Nora, a surgeon from working-class roots who got her education by joining the Navy, serving as a trauma surgeon in multiple war zones. She wants to join Dr. Danny Marsh's (McKenzie) elite HURT Unit. Although she's nearly as brilliant a surgeon as he is, he won't have her on his team until she levels with him about her troubled past.
